Missy Greis of Publik Coffee

Updated: May 8, 2020

Missy is the founder/owner of Publik which includes Publik Coffee, Publik Space, Publik Kitchen, Publik Ed’s and soon-to-be Publik Works (in the new Industry SLC building).

What are your passions in life?

Being in the mountains, road trips + travel in general, alone time.

How did you get to where you are now?

My life has been a series of stepping stones. People tell me I'm a connector and I guess it's true—everything I've done in my 22 years in SLC has been directly linked to relationships from something previous. I wouldn't know how to cold call anyone and always look for connection before starting a dialogue about anything.

Who or what inspires you?

People who are authentic and real and, if necessary, raw. My daughter, Grace. Beautiful spaces and the color white.

Do you have an everyday essential?

Besides one 8oz quad latte with whole milk? Fresh air. Laughter.

Do you have a personal mantra? Never work with assholes and always do what is right vs. what is easy.

Maintaining responsibility during a pandemic

In times of COVID-19, many business owners have had to rethink and reconsider aspects of their space to ensure the safety of all in their community, including themselves. True to nature and out of concern for the wellbeing of her community, Missy has been actively voicing her concerns regarding the reopening of certain businesses and especially the challenges that come for small places of operation, like hers. Stay informed and make safe choices. Let’s find ways to positively contribute and support our local businesses without the fear of contamination or placing any workers in harms way, which also helps our healthcare workers. #stayhomestaysafe
